Pocahontas- Johnny Roy Ward 73, entered into eternal peace on Wednesday, April 16, 2014 at his home surrounded by his family.

Johnny was born July 19, 1940 in Pocahontas to the late Roy and Fannie Dixon Ward.

Johnny is survived by his loving wife Dorothy Jansen Ward of the home, children, Johnny (Wendy) Ward Jr. of Imboden, Becky (Aubrey) Morgan of Pocahontas, Julie Perkins of Jonesboro, Joe (Carol) Ward of Smithville, Lisa Lee of Pocahontas, James Shawn (Karen) Ward of Pocahontas,

16 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren, siblings, Betty Sue Farley of Pevely, MO, Mary Lois Baker of Fairfield Bay, AR., Bobbie Hubbard of Cincinnati, OH., sister-in-law Paula Ward of Hamil, AR.,

Preceded in death by his parents, sisters Carolyn Newberry, and Lee Montgomery, brothers, Keith Ray Ward, Cleatus Ward, granddaughter Emily Ann Perkins, son-in-law Stephen Ray Lee.

Johnny was a member of St. Paul’s Catholic Church and Knights of Columbus. He was the Justice of Peace District 9 for 14 years.

In lieu of flowers the family ask you leave a lasting memorial to the American Cancer Society.

Visitation will be Sunday, April 20, 2014 for 5:00-7:00 P.M. and rosary following at 7:00 P.M. in the McNabb Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral Service will be Monday, April 21, 2014 at 10:00 A.M. at St. Paul’s Catholic Church with Father Athanasius officiating. Burial will be in St. Paul’s Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be his grandson’s

Honorary Pallbearers will be his granddaughters.

    Dottie & Family, I am so sorry for your loss. Johnny Ward was one of the kindest & most genuine people I have ever known. He was a great farmer, smart businessman, & devoted family man. I have so many fond memories as I know you all do too. When someone you love becomes a memory, the memory becomes a treasure. My thoughts and prayers are with all of you in your time of sorrow.
