Hershal Eugene (Gene) Chesser

Maynard- Hershel Eugene (Gene) Chesser 83 Son of the late Marion Clyde and Ada Chesser passed away Friday at his home.

He was preceded by his parents infant son 3 brothers Raymond Chesser ,Lehman Chesser, Doyle Chesser and 3 sisters Hazel Surles, Ina Tribble and Louise Smith and 1 Granddaughter Misty Barnett.

He is survived by his wife Clara Chesser of 59 years they were married April 24, 1954 .

2 sons Charles Chesser and wife Margaret of Maynard, Michael Chesser and wife Joyce of Pocahontas 3 daughters Kathy Barnett and Husband Randle of Warm Springs Janice Halliburton and Husband Pawnee of Maynard and Teresa Kester and Husband Lee of Thayer ,Mo
18 grandchildren 23 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild. 2 brothers Dean Chesser of Lancaster,Ca and Rick Chesser of Okean, Ar 2 sisters Meggie Wall of Walnut Ridge and Linda Bradley of Walnut Ridge.

He was faithful Member of Stokes Church of Christ for 42 years.He loved Listening to his Beagle dogs run, playing dominoes, watching westerns , enjoyed spending time with his kids grandkids and family.

Memorials can be made to the Paragould Childrens Home.

Visitation will be Sunday from 5-8 , Service will be Monday at 11:00 Am at The Chapel of McNabb Funeral home with Ben Williams and Gary Buxton officiating Burial will follow at the Chesser Cemetery.

Raymond Matthias Thielemier

Pocahontas – Raymond Matthias Thielemier, 83, passed away Wednesday, July 28, 2010 at Pocahontas Nursing & Rehab.

Born July 12, 1927 in Engelberg to the late Will & Katharine (Ungerank) Thielemier.

He is preceded in death by brothers; Bennie, Leo, Tip (Antone), Al, Herman, Andy and Ed Thielemier and infant sister Mary Katharine Thielemier.

He is survived by wife of 60 years Patsy Earlene (Strange) Thielemier, Children; Debbie (Bill) Prichard of Pocahontas, Janieca (Ronnie) Penn of Union, MO., Dennis (Susan) Thielemier of Franklin, AR., Wayne (Brenda) Thielemier of Cabot, AR. Grandchildren; Amy Elizabeth Pritchard of Pocahontas, Alicia (Brian) Bolzenius of Union, MO., Candace (Travis) Baker of Overland Park, KS., Dustin (Morgan) Penn of Wylie, TX., Kyle Thielemier of Cabot, AR., Matthew Thielemier, Chris and Clay Mosley of Franklin, AR. and 7 great grandchildren, 2 brothers; Dick and Bob Thielemier and sister Wilma Wren all of Engelberg.

Raymond enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He enjoyed his work at St. Paul Catholic School and convent for many years. He also drove school buses and did lawn care work. Raymond was a member of Knights of Columbus and VFW.

Memorials may be made to Doni Martin Center; 1506 N. Park St.; Pocahontas, AR. 72455; St. Paul Catholic School; 311 Cedar St.; Pocahontas, AR. 72455; Immaculate Conception School; 6 West State St.; Union, MO. 63084 or a charity of your choice.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, July 31, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Paul Catholic Church with Father Athanasius Okeiyi officiating. Burial will follow to St. Paul Catholic Church.

Visitation will be held Friday from 5-7 p.m. with a 7:00 p.m. rosary following in the Chapel of McNabb Funeral Home.

Lucille C. Nielsen

Pocahontas – Lucille C. Nielsen, 80, passed away Wednesday, July 28, 2010 at Five Rivers Medical Center.

Born September 27, 1929 in Ohio to the late Otto and Rosa Mescher.

She is preceded in death by two husbands; Harold Thompson and Merle Nielsen and three brothers.

She is survived by daughter Kathleen Smith of Pocahontas, two granddaughters; Shelly Williams of Pocahontas and Melissa Lynk of Doniphan, MO. Grandson Shane Lindsey of Pocahontas, 6 great grandchildren and four great great grandchildren. Five brothers and four sisters.

McNabb Funeral Home was in charge of making arrangements. Mrs. Nielsen was cremated and there are no services scheduled at this time.

James Edgar Fultner

Pocahontas – James Edgar Fultner, 80, passed away Friday, July 23, 2010 at Five Rivers Medical Center.

Born May 19, 1930 in Mason, AR., to the late Charlie and Mary (Deckard) Fultner.

He is preceded in death by wife Leaverda Webb Fultner, both parents, brother Charles (Jack) Fultner, sisters; Lorine Johnson (Thatch), Opal Shehorn, and Gladys Wilson.

He is survived by four daughters; Sharon Kay Flanery of Bono, Rebecca Price and Debbie Brantley both of Pocahontas, and Tina South of Weldon. 12 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren, and 2 great great grandchildren. Brother John Fultner and sisters; Mary Hancock and Martha McQuay.

He was a great husband, father, grandfather, uncle and brother.

Graveside service will be held Friday, July 30, 2010 at 2:30 p.m. in Antioch Cemetery with Brother David Moore officiating.

Visitation will be held from 1-2:00 p.m. before service time in the Chapel of McNabb Funeral Home.

Johnnie Stevens

Paragould – Johnnie Stevens, 72, passed away Friday, July 23, 2010 at Arkansas Methodist Medical Center.

Born November 12, 1937 in Memphis, TN., to the late William and Maureen (Payne) Griffin.

She is survived by son Bernard Stevens of Stokes, 2 daughters; Carol Stevens of Oakland, CA and Jerri Stevens of Eureka Springs, AR. 1 grandchild and 1 great grandchild. And one sister and one brother.

Graveside service will be held Thursday, July 29, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. at Crittenden Memorial Park in West Memphis, AR.

Visitation will be held Wednesday night from 6-8 p.m. in the Chapel of McNabb Funeral Home.

Eugene (Gene) Hickerson

Ravenden– Mr. Gene Hickerson 84,Passed away Friday July 23rd.

He is survived by his wife Josie (Wilson) Hickerson of the home, one son Bryan Johnson of Ravenden Springs, two daughters Carolyn Mitchell of Viola, Ar. And Shirley Ford of Leachville, Ar. One brother Bob Hickerson of Harrisonville, Ks. And one sister Barbara Wheeler of Kansas City, Ks. 24 grandchildren and 66 great grandchildren.

Services for Mr. Hickerson will be at 7pm Monday July 26th in the chapel of McNabb Funeral Home with and John Stoll officiating.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 Monday prior to the service. Arrangements are under the direction of McNabb Funeral Home.

Lula Ivy Stacy

Pocahontas – Lula Ivy Stacy, 106, passed away Wednesday, July 21, 2010 at Randolph Home.

Born July 18, 1904 in Missouri to the late Newt and Clara (Headly) Case.

She is preceded in death by parents, two daughters; Laura Hawkins Saller and Irene Brock, three grandsons and one great grandson.

She is survived by seven grandchildren; Judy Forrester and Marcella Davis both of Pocahontas, Janis Dust of Sikeston, MO., Ginger Rosenzweig of Bowie, MD., Rena Lee Outlaw of Pine Bluff, AR., Larry Carmickle of Wooster, AR., and Lynn Milton of Springdale, AR. Son-in-law, Cecil Saller of Pocahontas and 17 great grandchildren and 29 great great grandchildren.

Graveside service will be held Friday at 1:30 p.m. in Thompson Cemetery.

McNabb Funeral Home was in charge of making arrangements.

Birdie Marie Watson

Pocahontas – Birdie Marie Watson, 81, passed away Thursday, July 15, 2010 at Randolph Home.

Born December 20, 1928.

She is preceded in death by father Birdie Lucas, mother Inez Mann and step-father Joe Mann. Husband, Cecil Watson and brother, Neil Lucas.

She was married to Cecil Watson in Hagermann, NM on June 02, 1944.

Survivors include: Son, Jim and wife Mary Watson of Maynard, 5 daughters; Joyce and husband Martin Baltz of Pocahontas, Eunice Thiele of husband Jerome of Rodger, AR., Betty Stockwell and husband Tommy of Pocahontas, Carolyn Frankenberger and husband David of California, and Cecilia Henson and husband Frank of Pocahontas. 15 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren. Brother Rex Mann of Texas, 3 sisters; Sherry Kent, Ina Jo, and Rita McCaslin all of New Mexico

Services will be held Sunday, July 18, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of McNabb Funeral Home with Terry Miller officiating. Burial will follow in Masonic Cemetery.

Visitation will be Saturday night from 6-8 p.m.

Lucille Hope Noonon

Pocahontas – Lucille Hope Tyler Noonon, 93, passed away Wednesday, July 14, 2010.

Born September 3, 1916. The youngest of 10 children born to John Rayburn Tyler and Minnie Harris Tyler.

Lucille was preceded in death by her parents, her husband James Noonon, 5 brothers & 4 sisters, and 14 nieces and nephews.

She is survived by 26 nieces and nephews and several cousins.

Local nieces and nephews are; Jennie Waddle, Nadine Tyler, Pat Baker, Shirley Barrow, Becky Hogue, and husband Willard, Marilyn Baker of Pocahontas, Ben Williams and wife Lou, Nina Tyler and Reva Haley of Maynard and Lolita Wright of Corning.

Services will be in the Chapel of McNabb Funeral Home Saturday, July 17th, at 4:00 p.m. with visitation from 3 until time of services with Don Autry officiating. Burial will be private.

Bill Lee Giles

Pocahontas – Mr. Bill Giles, 90, passed away Saturday, July 10, 2010 at Five Rivers Medical Center. He was born Feb. 28th, 1920 to the late Melvin and Minnie Giles.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Notra Giles.

He is survived by three daughters; Brinda Giles and Donna Pearcy both of Pocahontas, and Billie Crafford and son-in-law, Mike of Fisk, Mo. Two grandchildren Monica Pearcy and Shonda Emmons, one great grandchild Tye Emmons.

Services for Mr. Giles will be Tuesday July 13th at 2:00pm in the chapel of Mcnabb Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Masonic Cemetery.

Visitation will be Monday evening from 5-7.
