Rayburn Eugene Harris

Pocahontas – Rayburn Eugene Harris, 88, passed away Tuesday November 25, 2008 at Five Rivers Medical Center.

He was born April 25, 1920 in Stokes, AR. To the late Estel and Eacel Harris.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Adda Mae, daughter, Judith Ann, and brothers Brown and Stanley Harris.

He is survived by 1 son Frank Harris of Paragould, and 4 daughters: Patsy Harris and Mickie Rapert both of Pocahontas, Wanda Menard of Birdell and Sue Collins of Jonesboro. Eight grandchildren: Jonna Davis of McCrory, AR., Cindi Barber of Havelock, N.C., James Shannon Menard of Jonesboro, Ben Rapert of Ashflat, Allyson and Jake Rapert of Pocahontas, Elizabeth Johnston of Arab, AL., and Keith Harris of Batesville. 12 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild. 4 siblings: Aldenea Agee of Troy, MO., Eugenie Agee of St. Louis, MO., Bill Harris of High Ridge, MO., and Freda Harris of Dittmer, MO.

Service will be held Saturday 2:00 in the Chapel of McNabb Funeral Home. Burial will follow to Brockett Cemetery with Gerald Fears officiating.

Visitation will be Friday from 4-8 at the Funeral Home.

Andy Davis Jr.

Pocahontas – Andy Davis, Jr.,63, passed away November 24, 2008 at Five Rivers Medical Center.

He was born July 7, 1945 in Pocahontas to the late Robert Sr. And Jessie Davis.

He is survived by wife, Peggy Davis of the home, 2 sons Adam Davis of Walnut Ridge and Brian Davis of Pocahontas, 1 step-daughter Jamie Lemmons of Pocahontas and 4 grandchildren.

Service will be held 10:00 Wednesday in the Chapel of McNabb Funeral Home. Burial will follow to St. Pauls Cemetery with Lynn Ables officiating.

Visitation will be Tuesday from 5-7 also in the Chapel. Military honors will be done by Promberger Trau Post 4556.

Andy Davis Jr.

Pocahontas – Andy Davis, Jr.,63, passed away November 24, 2008 at Five Rivers Medical Center.

He was born July 7, 1945 in Pocahontas to the late Robert Sr. And Jessie Davis.

Paul Doran

Pocahontas – Paul Doran, 82, passed away Monday November 24, 2008 at St. Benards Medical Center.

He was born September 09, 1926 in Pocahontas to the late Jasper and Ava Doran.

He is preceded in death by one son, Mark Douglas Doran, six brothers: Alfred, Waymon, Lehman, Clifton, Clinton, and Orvel.

He is survived by his wife, Lucille Doran of the home. One son, Paul Michael Doran of California, 2 sisters Velma Schwent and Vida Combs both of Missouri. Two grandchildren, Kaittin Michelle Doran and Christopher Douglas Doran and his wife, Amy.

His service will be held Saturday at 10:00 AM November 29, 2008 in the Chapel of McNabb Funeral Home. Burial will follow to Walnut Grove Cemetery with Christopher Douglas Doran officiating.

Visitation will be held Friday from 4-7 also in the Chapel.

Lee Yancy

Pocahontas- Lee Yancy 96 passed away Saturday at St.Bernards. She was preceded by her parents Husband Ed Yancy, 1 son E.L. Yancy

She is survived by 2 daughters Pearl Murphy of Corning and Geraldine McPherson of Reyno,AR,
14 grandchildren 29 great-grandchildren 24 great-great grandchildren and 1 great-great-great grandchild.

Funeral service will be Tuesday at 10:00 at Chapel of McNabb Funeral Home with Loy Culver officiating Burial will follow at the Overby Cemetery.

Visitation will Monday from 5:00-8:00 at the Funeral Home.

Freda Marie Brown

Pocahontas – Freda Marie (Belford) Brown, 94, passed away Monday, November 17, 2008 at Five Rivers Medical Center.

She is preceded in death by her husband Glen Brown, parents Freeman E. And Una Belford, 2 sisters, Nancy Belford and Moina Barton.

Survivors include 1 sister Jeanne Simpson of Pocahontas, 8 nieces and nephews who loved her very much and she in return: Harrell A. and Anne Simpson, David and Dan Barton, Joe and Belinda Cockrum, Cindy Ayre and Tony Quintero and 7 great nieces and nephews.

She went to Corning High School and attended Lindwood College in St. Charles, MO. Also attended Arkansas State University. She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Pocahontas, a member of Community Affairs, and was 50 year member of the PEO Chapter in Arkansas; an organization set up to help young women obtain a college education.

Service will be held 1:00 Thursday, November 20, 2008, in the Chapel of McNabb Funeral Home. Burial will follow to Randolph Memorial Gardens with Fred Hunter officiating.

Visitation will be held Wednesday night from 6-8 also in the Chapel of McNabb Funeral Home.

Pallbearers include Harrell Simpson, David Barton, Dan Barton, Joe Cockrum, Tony Quintero, and Drew Simpson.

Honorary Pallbearers include: J.H. Lamb and Carl Lamb.

Weir Ray Swann

W. Ray (Hootie) Swann, 78 of Pocahontas, passed away Monday, November 17, 2008 at his home.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Ann Swann, 4 sons: Buster, Danny, and Jerry Swann all of Pocahontas and Terry Toliver of Little Rock, 4 daughters: Mary Waddell, Susie McManners and Louise Voss all of Pocahontas and Pat Williams of Mountain Home. 1 brother Buddy Swann and 1 sister Fay Swann both of Pocahontas. 21 grandchildren, several great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren.

Services will be held at 10:00 Thursday, November 20, 2008 in the Chapel of McNabb Funeral Home. Burial will follow to Harmony Cemetery with Nelson Henderson officiating.

Visitation will be held from 5-7 Wednesday also in the Chapel of McNabb Funeral Home.

Donations may be made to St. Judes Childrens Hospital or St. Benards Hospice

Juanita Mildred Martin

Pocahontas – Juanita Mildred Martin, 85, passed away Thursday November 13, 2008.

She was born January 27, 1923, in Hamil, AR. To the late Chesley and Mary Massey.

Her husband George Martin preceded her in death along with her son Gary Martin and 3 brothers and 2 sisters.

Survivors include three grandchildren; Shane Martin of Pocahontas, Shannon Battles of Jonesboro, and Shelly Bettis also of Jonesboro. One sister Novella Gregory from Pacific, MO. Also surviving are 6 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Services will be held at 2:00 Saturday in the Chapel of McNabb Funeral Home. Burial will follow to Randolph Memorial Gardens with Nelson Henderson officiating.

Visitation will be held from 1-2 Saturday also in the Chapel.

Johnny Brent Todd, JR.

O’Kean – Johnny Brent Todd, JR., 41, passed away Tuesday, November 11, 2008.

He was born October 17, 1967 in Pocahontas, AR.

Survivors include his son Randall Cummings of Pocahontas, Parents John and Kathy Todd of O’Kean, sisters Charman Rowe of Pocahontas, Candace Ray of O’Kean and brother Carl Todd of Paragould, along with many nieces, nephews, and friends.

Services will be held 10:00 Friday in the Chapel of McNabb Funeral Home. Burial will follow to Epsaba Cemetery.

Visitation will be held from 5-7 Thursday in the Chapel of McNabb Funeral Home.

Betty Jo Peeler

Pocahontas – Betty Jo Peeler, 81, passed away Tuesday November 11, 2008 at her place of residence.

She was born July 15, 1927 in Pocahontas, AR., to the late Joe and Pearl Long.

Survivors include daughter Mary Swann and grandson James Swann of Pocahontas. Two sisters Jenetta Moore and Jean Lewallen also of Pocahontas.

Graveside service will be held 2:00 Thursday at Palestine Cemetery with Chad Deshaw officiating.
